Presenter: Richard Bogue, PhD

Richard Bogue is the President of Courageous Healthcare. His webinar reviews goals and current practices for interprofessional education (IPE) in health care. New Podcast Episodes

The Coalition for Physician Well-Being’s podcast “The Well-Being Connector” is a hit. Since being initiated last month, there have been over 275 downloads. Listen to our most recent podcast interviews:

Steve Sartori is Director of The Center for Well-being at Christian Medical & Dental Associations (CMDA). He has been CEO of a private group practice, chief of staff at two hospitals, faculty member for a family medicine residency program, and chief medical officer for a faith-based community health center. He is now a certified physician coach, who helps doctors and other healthcare professionals align with God, optimize well-being and maximize influence.

Dan Diamond is a family physician with years of international disaster experience.  He was deployed to the Philippines following Typhoon Yolanda, led one of the first teams into Haiti after their devastating earthquake, and played a strategic role as the Director of the Medical Triage Unit in the New Orleans Convention Center following Hurricane Katrina. From these experiences and others, he has discovered insights and strategies that we can use to thrive under pressure.

Fahad Samarkandy is an and Emergency medicine physician at the Security Forces Hospital in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He serves as the chief of the hospital’s emergency department and is a member of the hospital well-being team. By joining the Coalition, he hopes to learn more about the evidence for the importance of physician well-being, the best practices for improving physician well-being, and success stories organizations have had in implementing well-being efforts.

He is also excited to reach out and connect with like-minded people from all over the World. In particular, he believes that:
  • Burnout is primarily the organization's responsibility and not the individual's. It reflects organization weakness not staff weakness.
  • Burnout contributes to worse care, safety and satisfaction as well as having negative financial implications.
  • There are many validated and evidence-based methods to tackle each driver of burnout!
