September 17, 2021 will be the fourth annual NPSA Day, designed to bring awareness to the fact that physicians take their own lives at a greater rate than the average population. By talking about the problem rather than turning a blind eye to it, we decrease the stigma in healthcare around the fact that physicians have mental health challenges as much as anybody. Here's some resources you might use to talk about this issue in your clinic or department or become more educated:

Coalition for Physician Well-Being September 17th Webinar -  Dr. Jeffrey Sung, MD, is an acting instructor with the University of Washington Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. Since 2002, his clinical responsibilities have included direct service and consultation in the care of individuals facing homelessness, medical illness, substance use, and psychiatric conditions. He has taught psychotherapy, suicide risk assessment, and managing response to patient suicide to mental health practitioners, physicians, and chiropractors.
